Welcome
Hi, I'm Michaela!
I am from Eudora, Kansas, and I graduated from Eudora High School in 2021. I am a senior at Emporia State University, majoring in Elementary Education. I will be the first in my family to graduate from college. I will begin my final semester of student teaching in kindergarten. Formerly, I student taught in a 4th-grade (math) classroom.
I have chosen a career in elementary education because of my kindergarten teacher. She saw something in me and went out of her way to help me be the best student and person that I could be. I have wanted to be an elementary teacher since my first day of kindergarten because of her, but over time, because I want to help children become their best selves. I am thankful for my educational experiences both K-12 and at the collegiate level. These include, but are not limited to activities, lessons, and classroom management tips. I plan to carry these experiences with me into my classroom.
For my future goals, I want to continue growing as an educator. I am currently pursuing an Instructional Specialist Master's Degree with a Reading Specialist Concentration, which I started in the summer of 2024 as I continue to complete my bachelor's degree. I believe that this degree will aid me in being a more effective classroom teacher.
I also have an interest in pursuing a Dual Master's in Curriculum & Instruction and Educational Administration. Furthermore, I would like to pursue a Doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction!
